Privacy Policy

PRAYER is a community app for sharing weekly intentions and participating in synchronized moments of prayer or reflection.

Information We Collect

You can use the core shared-intention features without creating an account. Depending on the features you use, PRAYER may process:

• Account information: If you create an account, we store your email address, an account identifier, and authentication records needed to confirm your email, sign you in, and recover your account. Passwords are handled by Supabase Auth and stored only as salted password hashes, not as readable passwords.
• Intention suggestions: We store the suggestion text, selected theme, moderation status, and submission time. Please do not include names, contact information, or other sensitive personal details that you do not want us to process.
• Participation information: When you join or hold an intention, we use a randomly generated participant identifier to prevent duplicate counts. We store the related intention and use this information to maintain aggregate participation totals.
• Notification information: If you enable reminders, we store an Expo push token, device platform, and a randomly generated installation identifier. Your reminder preferences are also stored on your device.
• Technical information: Our service providers may process limited technical data, such as IP addresses, device or operating-system information, request logs, and error information, to provide, secure, and troubleshoot their services.

We do not require a public profile, real name, address, or phone number.

How We Use Information

We use information only as reasonably necessary to:

• Create, secure, and support optional user accounts
• Operate shared intentions and prevent duplicate participation counts
• Review intention suggestions and select future shared intentions
• Send reminders that you have chosen to receive
• Maintain, protect, and troubleshoot the app
• Respond to support and privacy requests

Suggestions and Public Content

New intention suggestions are visible to moderators while they are reviewed. If a suggestion is approved, its wording and theme may appear in the app as a future or featured shared intention. We do not display your email address or account information with an approved suggestion.

Push Notifications

If you enable notifications, PRAYER uses Expo's push notification service and your device's notification service to deliver reminders about:

• Weekly shared intentions
• Upcoming shared moments
• Live shared moments

You may disable reminders in the app or notification access in your device settings. Turning reminders off in the app removes the associated push token from PRAYER's active subscription list.

Service Providers and Sharing

PRAYER uses Supabase for authentication, database, and backend services, and Expo for push notification delivery. Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging may complete delivery to your device. These providers process information on our behalf under their own terms and privacy practices.

We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or share it with data brokers. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the security or rights of users and the service, or as part of a business transfer where legally permitted.

Data Retention

Account information is retained while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service or meet legal and security obligations. Suggestions and anonymous participation records may be kept for moderation, shared-intention history, abuse prevention, and accurate aggregate counts. Active push tokens are retained only while needed to provide enabled reminders.

Your Choices and Data Deletion

You can use PRAYER without creating an account and can disable notifications at any time. To request access, correction, or deletion of your account and associated account information, contact support@prayer-app.org from the email address connected to your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request.

Anonymous suggestions and participation records are not linked to an account and may not be identifiable as yours. We will evaluate specific deletion requests when you provide enough information to locate the record.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through the app or another appropriate method when required.
